YouTube’s Posts Feature
October 31, 2025

We know what you’re thinking; YouTube does posts now?! It’s true! The platform that made video cool before TikTok has ventured into static media. But how does it work? And is it the right platform for your content?

Let’s start with the facts. With YouTube Posts, you can utilize text, images, polls, quizzes and, yes, video. The platform seems to view this feature as a way to engage audiences before your next video by giving sneak peeks, asking for suggestions or simply posting some thoughts while your export finishes. Once those posts are live, they’ll appear under the Posts tab on your channel. From there, the post can appear in any number of places, including audience’s Homepages, the Subscriptions feed and even the Shorts feed as a break between videos.

Here's the catch. As of right now, this feature is still in the early stages, so there’s no guarantee your post will end up anywhere outside of your own channel. We did a couple of test runs and had a hard time finding the post even when utilizing specific hashtags.

Our advice? If you already have a channel and the content is available, such as from a Facebook post, take a few extra minutes to add it to YouTube too. There’s always a chance you’ll get it in front of the right audience. But until the platform works out a better algorithm for distributing written content, YouTube Posts shouldn’t be your priority. We promise you won’t have FOMO!
