A Sell Out Success
An invitation to attend an event isn't necessarily enough to get guests to go out on a weeknight. Adding a chef-driven menu with wine pairings may pique the interest of prospective guests, but it takes a truly unique event to attract people to an outside event on a summer evening in Texas.
The right branding convinced foodies across the region to take a chance on the inaugural Lufkin's Farm Feast. The event sold out in just six hours.
"Lufkin's Farm Feast is about sharing a meal and some special time with family and friends while celebrating the abundant bounty of our East Texas farmers," said Tara Watson-Watkins, executive director of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The Lufkin Convention & Visitors Bureau and partners in Lufkin's Farm Feast worked together to carefully construct the guest experience - aligning every aspect of the event with the brand promise of a locally-sourced, snappy-casual, farm-friendly, fine dining experience. From a branded web page to branded menus, glasses and branded aprons on the servers, guests were reminded where they were and what was being delivered.
The summer event was so successful, a second event was planned for October 27 at Angelina County Farmers Market.
This event sold out in less than two hours.
Partners in Lufkin's Fall Farm Feast include the Angelina County Farmers Market, Kennerly Farms, Brookshire Brothers, Tomé Catering and the Pineywoods Herb Farm.
